Robert F. Knittel, 65, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. He was a life resident of Syracuse and graduate of Henninger High School Class of 1972. Early in his working career he worked for Carrier Corporation and later retired from Lockheed Martin after 27 years or service. Bob was a long time basketball referee at many area high schools and CYO Leagues. In his free time he was avid boater, motorcyclist and car enthusiast. He learn to cook and bake from his mother and enjoyed making dishes at home. Bob was a fan of the New York Yankees. 

Bob is survived by his wife former Dorothy Kieszkowski, they spent 38 years together, his loving daughter Katie, two brothers Joseph (Kathy) and Karl( Angela) Knittel, several nieces and nephews and his five Kitties.

A Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday March 14 at 10:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 4-7pm at Gang Memorial Chapel 104 Fordham Rd. at Teall Ave.
