Leonard P. Erkila, 68, of Syracuse passed away at home on August 28th. He was a life resident of Syracuse. Len graduated from Bishop Grimes High School and Central City Business Institute. He worked for Monarch Liquors and Midstate Industrial Supply. He retired from the City of Syracuse Finance Department as an Systems Accounting Manager. Len enjoyed the Adirondack Park, climbing the 46 High Peaks and becoming a ADK 46er. Most days he could be found enjoying a beer with his friends at the Cobblestone in Liverpool. 

Leonard is survived by his beloved mother Goldie Erkila, a sister Anne Marie (Karl) Reuss, two nieces Kirsten (Rick) Gaskin, Kim (Todd) Rielly, grand nieces and nephews Michael, Lauren, Stephen and Nicole.

Memorial Service on Thursday Sept. 16, at 11:00am at Gang Memorial Chapel. Burial in N. Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hour 10-11am Thursday before service.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the ADK or Roseamond Gifford Zoo would be appreciated.
