Eva Zahorian Wiesner, 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, after a short but fierce
battle with stomach cancer.
Eva grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Pine City, NY; and earned her way through college
and then medical school. She went on to a 50-year career providing pediatric care in Syracuse
and Central Square. Eva was an active and generous member of her community throughout her
life. In her later years, she regularly volunteered at her church Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox
Church; traveled with Faith in Practice to provide pediatric care in rural parts of Guatemala; and
served, alongside her spouse, as an election-poll worker. Eva was a prolific baker and an avid
traveler.
Eva is profoundly missed by her spouse, Jack, of 51 years; her children Nathaniel, Emilie, and
Jocelyn and their spouses, Edyta, Aaron, and Thomas; her grandchildren Petra, Kazimir,
Landon, Harlyn, Sebastian, and Lillian; her brother Stephen; and many more family and friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Ss. Peter and Paul
Orthodox Church, 401 Hamilton St, Syracuse, NY 13204. Visitation will be Monday, December 27,
2021 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Gang Memorial Chapel, 104 Fordham Rd, Syracuse, NY 13203.
