William R. Cahill Sr.

William "Bill" Cahill, 88 of Manlius, NY, passed away, Wednesday, at Crouse Hospital.
Services 9:15am Monday at Gang Memorial Chapel, A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Thomas Ryan at 10:00am in Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Friends may call the funeral home Sunday 3-5pm, 104 Fordham Rd. at Teall Ave.
Bill was born March 14, 1926 in Syracuse, NY to John and Florence Cahill. He graduated from St Vincents High School in 1944. He served in the US Navy on the USS Wyoming during WWII. After the Navy he graduated from the St Bonaventure in 1950. On August 23, 1952 he married the former Joyce E Walser in Syracuse. Bill was employed as a sales rep for General Crushed Stone. He enjoyed work and retired in 1990. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Cavalry Club in Manlius NY. He spent his Sundays volunteering as an usher at Immaculate Conception Church for which he was an active member. He also enjoyed reading, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Florence Cahill, brothers and sisters; Arline, Edward, John, and Virginia, and his daughter Bonnie Gallagher.
Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years Joyce W Cahill and his three sons; Dr. William R Cahill II and his wife Pamela Of Hockessin, DE, Robert J Cahill and his wife Kate of Rochester NY, and Timothy R Cahill of New York; son in law Timothy Gallagher, seven grandchildren, Amy Silberman and Brianna Cahill, Theresa, William, and John Cahill, John C and Meghan Gallagher.
