William C. Burniski March 1,2013 William C. Burniski, 92 , of Syracuse passed away Friday at The Crossings Nursing Home. He was born in Wilkes Barre, PA and come to Syracuse in 1951. Early in his life Bill played semi pro baseball for the Wilkes Barre Barons. He retired in 1982 from General Electric Company as a radar technician. He was an Army MP veteran from WWII. Bill was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion Eastwood Post #1276. He was a great fan of both the NY Yankees and SU Sports. He is survived by his wife of 62 years former Genevieve Mayeski, a daughter Carol (Paul) Norris, a son William (Debra) Burniski, a sister Anna Burniski, three grandchildren Peter, Tim, and Amy, four step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren. Services 11:00AM Wednesday at Gang Memorial Chapel. Burial with Military Honors in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Callings hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM at the funeral home 104 Fordham Rd. at Teall Ave.
