Rolf J. Schwedes March 5,2014 Rolf J. Schwedes, 71, of Baldwinsville passed away peacefully Wednesday in his sleep at The Inn at Menorah Park. Born in UIm, Germany in 1942, he emigrated to the USA in 1949, settling in New Jersey until he moved to Syracuse in 1969. Rolf was a disabled Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Master Mason, member of the Schriners, Lions, Elks, American Legion, Arion Stein Club and the German American Society of CNY. As a Past president of the Arion Society he looked forward to the annual Beer Fest at Long Branch Park. Rolf freely gave of himself for the good of others. One of his pleasures was to don his Santa Claus suit for his three nieces and four nephews. He is survived by a son Michael, three brothers, Gerhard (Linda), Erik (Karen), Herbert, and the thousands of people he touched. Services 11:00AM Tuesday at Gang Memorial Chapel.
