Margot Ethel Ziebuhr Fey

Margot Ethel Ziebuhr Fey,100, of Syracuse, died Thursday in Irvington N.Y. She was born in the part of Germany, which became The Free City of Danzig. Mrs. Fey came to the United States as a child and then returned to Danzig when she was in her 20's. She arrived again in the city of New York, New York in 1938. She and Urban R. Fey were married in 1941. They lived in Elmira, New York and later settled in Syracuse, New York, with weekends and holidays spent at their summer home near the Fey family farm in West Leyden, New York.
She was a longtime member of Saint John The Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed poetry, in particular the works of Longfellow and Tennyson. A favorite poem was Longfellow's "Psalm of Life". Her devoted husband, Urban Raymond Fey, preceded Mrs. Fey in death in 2003.
She is survived by her three beloved sons, Gary Michael Fey (Margaret Lindsay) of Irvington, New York; Ronald Louis Fey (Carol Boehner) of Ithaca, New York; Steven Urban Fey (Sue Ellen Nixon) of Keswick, Virginia; four grandchildren, Catherine Fey Daly (Dion), Ronald Fey, II (Sarah Richardson), Alexandra Fey, Lee Hendricks Unroe (Brian); and four great grandchildren, Conor, MacKenzie, Emma and Maxwell.
She is also survived by her loving cousin, Gertrude Kellmann Hooker of Long Lake, New York, along with her sons Daniel L. Hooker (Tara Carway) and their children, Daniel and Erin; and Patrick M. Hooker (Karen Huxtable); and their children Erika and Mitchell.
The family is profoundly grateful to the staff at Loretto and Cabrini for their kindness and care.
