Leonard P Malinowski, 85, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at Francis House on Sunday. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Helen Fonak Malinowski.
Leonard served in the U.S. Navy as a signalman on the USS Aurelia from 1944 to 1946. He was employed by Stone and Webster at Nine Mile plant.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his son Leonard J. ( Sharyn) Malinowski, of Seneca SC; daughter Janice (Robert) Bewley of Liverpool; and four loving grandchildren Lindsey, Brian, Megan and Kelly Bewley.
Leonard's family would like to extend their gratitude to everyone at Hospice and Francis House for the outstanding care given to him during his illness.
Services: 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gang Memorial Chapel and 9:00 a.m. in St. Daniels Church. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 104 Fordham Road at Teall Ave.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse.
