Jan Kornas January 20, 2016 Jan Kornas, 100, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on Wednesday. He was born on November 19, 1915 in Czyzuw, Poland. He immigrated to Syracuse in 1950. Jan retired in 1978 from Syracuse China after 27 years of service. He was a communicant of Transfiguration Church. Jan was predeceased by his wife former Sophie Knitowski Kornas in 2003. He is survived by several nieces and nephews including David Stever, of Liverpool, niece Patty Tanguya. Services 8:30am Tuesday at Gang Memorial Chapel, a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Transfiguration Church. Burial in Assumption Cemetery.
