Howard A. Baker Jr.,91, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at home after a brave battle with cancer. He was a Staff Sgt. of the US Air Force in the Korean War. Howard retired from the Syracuse City School District as a Tin Knocker and was past President of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #58. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1650. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years Barbara Gee Baker in 2005, two sons Gary M. and Howie Mark Baker, his parents Howard Baker Sr. and Frances Groneau Baker.
Howard is survived by two daughters Deborah Baker, of Oswego, Colleen Baker, of Syracuse, a son Paul Baker, of Syracuse, a brother David Baker, of Fla., a sister Barbara DeRegis, of Tenn., six grandchildren Marty, Karin, Kathleen, Samantha, Paul, and John, eight great grandchildren Colton, Riley, Liam, Norah, Chloe, Brihanna, Callie, Jaxen and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial Friday April1 at 11:00am St in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial with Military Honors in White Chapel Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours are 9-10:30 am Friday before Mass at Gang Memorial Chapel 104 Fordham Rd. at Teall Ave.
