Frank C. Brownell, M.D.

Dr. Frank Brownell died Saturday following a brief illness. He was born August 11, 1928 in Oswego County, New York and grew up in Queens. He served in the U.S Army and attained the rank of Staff Sargent. He received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and graduated from the State University of New York College of Medicine in Syracuse. He practiced at the St. Joseph's Hospital Radiology Department until his retirement in 1993.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie, and his seven children, Sat Shakti (George (Daya)), Mark (Theresa), Daniel, Catherine, Anne (Thomas), James (Emily), and Jane (Michael). Frank leaves thirteen grandchildren and two great-grand children. He is survived by his brother David Brownell (Pat) and by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass 11:00AM Saturday in St. John the Baptist Church, Park St. Syracuse. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 – 7 pm at Gang Memorial Chapel 104 Fordham Rd. at Teall Ave.
