Ernest William "Bill" Thomson Sr. 92 Died Wednesday 16 December 2015 at J.C. Memorial Hospital. Mr. Thomson has been a resident of Shirley Home for the aged Shirleysburg, PA since 2010. He formerly Lived at 392 Mildred Avenue Syracuse NY.
He was married, at Denver Colorado, on 17 March 1947 to Nina May Borden who preceded in death 16 July 2010.
He is survived by 8 children, Ernest W. Thomson, Polly Strife, David B. Thomson, Robert N. Thomson, Richard H. Thomson, James B.Thomson, Amy Jayne, and Steven M, Thomson. He also has a number of grand children and great grand children. He is also survived by a brother Oliver c. Thomson.
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Over the years he has served in a number of different positions , as a Stake High Councilor, High Priest Group Leader, and Bishop. He also served in the Bishop Store House, and as a Temple Worker at the Toronto Canada temple and the Palmyra New York Temple.
He graduated from the University of Denver. He taught school, worked for the US Air Force as an instructor, and spent 31 years working as an instructor for General Electric in their Heavy Military Department. He was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Air Force in the Pacific Theater. He had a love for music and enjoyed singing with his rich base voice.
Graveside Service Thursday (Dec. 31) at 10:00 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are Wednesday (Dec. 30) from 4-7 pm at Gang Memorial Chapel 104 Fordham Rd. at Teall Ave.
