Elaine Marschall

Elaine Marschall, 92, of Syracuse, passed away on December 18, 2022. She was born in Syracuse to Anthony and Alice Sposato. Elaine received a degree in Biology as a member of LeMoyne College's first graduating class in 1951. She married Kurt Marschall in 1958 and they honeymooned in Havana just weeks before Castro's takeover of Cuba. Elaine worked for both her husband and her sister, Inez, to help them establish their small businesses – Empire Orthopedic Labs and Van Nez Fashions, respectively – before devoting herself to her family as a home-maker. Elaine was a communicant of St. Therese Church. She was member of her neighborhood garden club for many years and enjoyed tennis and travel. In addition to her parents, Elaine is predeceased by her husband and sister. Elaine is survived by her two children, son Anthony (Nancy) of Cazenovia and Peter (Mary) of Manlius; her four grandchildren, Zachary, Ted, Benjamin and Annalisa. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 4pm-6pm at Gang Memorial Chapel, 104 Fordham Road - followed by a short prayer service at the funeral home.
