Donald J. Mikolajczyk March 30, 2013 Donald J. Mikolajczyk, 62, of Syracuse, died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 30, 2013. He was respected as a dedicated horticulturist who had worked for Zerillo Greenhouses and the City of Syracuse Parks Department. Don graduated from Hornell High School in 1969 and came to Syracuse to attend SUNY/ESF. He will be remembered by his many friends for his cheerful nature and his kindnesses to others (especially dogs) who needed a helping hand. He is survived by a sister, Esther Swetland of Portville; a brother, Robert of Hinsdale; and several nephews and nieces. A celebration of Don's life is planned for the afternoon of Saturday, April 13, at Rooters at the Tops Valley Plaza on South Salina Street just south of Interstate Route 81 Exit 17. Don was fond of socializing there with his dog, Wink, and is expected to join his friends in spirit as we recall and celebrate the good old days we shared with a wonderful friend to all he met.
