Obituary

Anna Koschel, passed peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 9, 2026, one of the sweetest, kindest and most selfless people you would ever want to meet. Forced to leave her beloved home in Jordan, Germany during the war, she faced great loss, tragedy and pain. Coming to America on a ship, newly married with a baby and a suitcase, she endured sickness and more loss. However, with her strong faith and hard work she made a new life in this beloved country for her family. She drove all over Syracuse, NY before GPS, serving dinners in the homes of many people. She catered for weddings, and took in boarders, taking care of them as if they were her own. Cooking breakfast, preparing lunches and making dinners with joy. She truly had a servant’s heart and learned contentment through many hard times. Anna delighted in playing and creating an atmosphere of warmth and fun for her family.

Anna is survived by her daughters Renate (Roy) Brunner, Lafayette, NY, Linda (Russ) Gower LaFayette, NY Sister Elizabeth Gerecke, Syracuse, NY Grandchildren Jennifer (Nate) Fasulo, Erika (Bryan) Horlings, Jacob (Bonnie) Brunner, Sarah Gower, Ben (Amanda) Gower. Great Grandchildren Juliana Fasulo, Joshua Fasulo, Natalie Fasulo, Lia Fasulo, Ethan Horlings, Avery Horlings, Emma Horlings, Jase Brunner, Liam Brunner, Rhys Brunner, Kyle Brunner and many nieces and nephews in Germany.
