Alvine Dumler Obituary September 11, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Alvine Dumler. She was born in 1929 in Borrissow, Russia. Emigrated to Germany and then to the United States in 1955. Alvine's culinary talents were legendary and she enjoyed a 35 year illustrious career as one of Syracuse's premier caterers. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Edgar Dumler. Surviving her are her six children Inge (Timothy) Pinckney, Edgar Dumler, Lilli Dumler (Donald Clarfeld), Renate Dumler (Adam Vaczek), Anita Jones, Irene Hess (deceased son in law William Billy Hess). One of Alvine's greatest sources of pride were her five grandchildren Christopher Pinckney, Sarah Clark, Dr. Matthew Hess, Erik Dumler and Dr. Jonathan Hess. We extend a heartfelt thank you and our gratitude to the caring staffs at Greenpoint, St. Camillus and Upstate Hospital.
