Hilmar G. "Boss" Loerzel, 82, of N. Syracuse passed away suddenly on Friday at home. He was born in Oberstreu, Germany and came to Syracuse in 1954. Boss was employed early with Syracuse China and later retired from the Carrier Corporation. Hilmar enjoyed spending his time in the great outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish and spend his days in his yard with his ducks. His pride and joy in the later years in life was watching his great grandchildren grow up. He was predeceased by his brother Rudolf and a grandson Bryan Hinman.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years former Monika Keidel, a daughter Christel, two grandchildren Patrick and Sonya, two sisters Irmgard Cohn and Erika Baller, five great grandchildren Rayna, Gabriella, Aiden, Mason and Veronica.
Prayer Service Tuesday at 11:00am in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Dewitt. Calling hours are Monday 4-7 pm at Gang Memorial Chapel 104 Fordham Rd. at Teall Ave.
